We are thrilled to announce our investment in Jindas, as part of our Future Resilience Fund Portfolio.
Jindas is leveraging $200K in philanthropy to unlock $2M in impact investing and $220M from contractors and government. Through this catalytic funding model, they serve thousands in low-income communities recovering from disasters through affordable housing solutions, revitalized public spaces, and comprehensive social programs. This perfectly aligns with our Future Resilience Fund thesis: identifying and funding game-changing solutions that can scale globally by addressing systemic root causes of vulnerability ("rebuilding better") while using philanthropic dollars to unlock additional resources for recovery ("blended capital").
Why Did We Back Jindas?
With one comprehensive solution, Jindas tackles two massive challenges - the critical shortage of affordable housing and the complex barriers to social mobility in Israel's most marginalized communities.
Jindas has pioneered a transformative three-dimensional model that goes far beyond traditional real estate development. Their approach combines new affordable housing construction with public facility improvements and targeted social programming, creating a holistic solution for community regeneration. By integrating physical infrastructure with social support, Jindas doesn't just build houses - they build pathways to lasting social mobility.
Urban Regeneration Meets Social Impact Expertise
Jindas is led by Avital Blonder, a visionary CEO who has established one of Israel's most impactful real estate ventures. The organization is strengthened by an exceptional board that brings together industry leaders and experts in social policy and housing. What particularly impressed us about Jindas is their proven track record across Israel's socio-geographic periphery. They are already actively working in six cities directly benefiting over 1,500 individuals and created ripple effects for more than 6,000 families.
Urban Regeneration: A Catalyst for Social Change Post-Disaster
For traditional investors, Jindas represents an innovative real estate development venture. For impact investors and practitioners, it exemplifies how thoughtful urban regeneration can drive profound social transformation. When done right, urban regeneration and rebuilding better of real estate assets is about more than physical infrastructure - it's about creating the conditions for communities to thrive. Access to quality, affordable housing provides stability. Well-designed public spaces foster community connection. Improved facilities and services enable better education and healthcare outcomes.
The opportunity in this space is significant. Israel faces a critical affordable housing shortage, particularly in peripheral communities. Traditional real estate developers often overlook these areas, creating a market gap that simultaneously represents a serious social challenge and a compelling investment opportunity.
Jindas perfectly matches our thesis of catalytic capital - using $2M in philanthropy and impact to unlock $220M from the government and the private sector to rebuild and reimagine neighborhoods in areas that have been historically underserved and have been hurt directly during the war. Whether through initial philanthropic support or follow-on investment, backing Jindas represents an opportunity to achieve outstanding social impact alongside sustainable financial returns.
