PollyLabs is looking for a part time comms associate / writer-in-residence. 

We are part think-tank, part venture fund that is  shaking up the impact startup landscape - and have a lot of complicated “stuff” to communicate to many different types of people. 

 

What is PollyLabs?

PollyLabs is a think tank & incubator with an investment arm that is pioneering a new approach to impact innovation: Repurposing Technology for Good – using existing, proven technologies to accelerate solutions to the world's most pressing needs. We collaborate with top tech companies and founding teams to co-create transformative solutions and work to close critical knowledge gaps that will allow us and others to build and scale transformative solutions. We work in areas such as humanitarian aid, transition to regenerative food systems, and ethical employment for migrant workers.

 

What you’ll be working on: 

• Create compelling and engaging content for various platforms, including articles (for our blog and for other media outlets), social media, newsletters, and investor communications.

• Refine and maintain a consistent brand voice and tone across all written materials.

• Collaborate with our team to understand and translate our work into impactful written content.

• Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with our brand standards.

• Research and stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
   

The ideal candidate will be someone with:

• A love for writing, with excellent prose, editing, and proofreading skills.

• Strong ability to understand complex concepts, organize information and articulate  ideas in a simple yet engaging manner. 

• Capacity to quickly produce high quality content in various formats 

• Familiarity with various communication platforms and tools, including social media, email marketing, and content management systems.

• Passion for the mission of PollyLabs

• Exceptional organizational skills, comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Nice to haves but not required are: 

• Experience with content writing, copywriting, or similar role 

• Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field 

• Understanding of startup ecosystems, and investor relations

• Basic knowledge of SEO principles and content optimization techniques
